Satoshi's Sidewalk #8: What Would You Say You Do Here?
Important questions require important answers.
I received a question from a dear subscriber a few ‘Sidewalks back about the seemingly missing comparisons of real estate to bitcoin in past issues. Didn’t I promise somewhere to write about some real estate-related topic through an orange-color lens?
There may be more subscribers wondering, so why not delve a bit further into the goal for the Satoshi’s Sidewalk series. As described, each issue:
…will cover random happenings related to real estate - whether responses to twitter takes, internet articles, books, videos, etc. Any subject is game as long as it relates to real estate and will accordingly be analyzed through the orange lens of bitcoin. We won’t wade too far into deeper waters unless a real-world opportunity is too good to ignore.
Since the question was brought up I’ve attempted to add more bitcoin analysis in the last few issues. This may not always be the case as some issues will be longer than others depending on the amount of free time available amount other factors.
Some issues will be cut and dry enough to do a one-off analysis of the real estate topic as it relates to Bitcoin (the protocol) or bitcoin (the money, monetary attributes, ethos, etc.). Other issues, such as The Suburban Experiment, are part of a larger arc that will be explored in an issue (or issues) of Bitcoin Urbanism.
The goal is to keep each Satoshi’s Sidewalk (‘Sidewalk, for short) to a relatively quick, light read. Links to more articles will be provided for the curious. Bitcoin (and bitcoin) will be sprinkled in with more added as needed. Many subscribers, at least for now, are bitcoiners who already understand B/bitcoin. Brief comments work for them, but not for dear subscribers who understand real estate but not bitcoin - or dear subscribers who don’t yet understand either. For those dear subscribers, Lord have Mercy!
The goal is not to write cliffhangers until the larger topic is covered at a later date. I want to share my ideas because I think they’re worth sharing. And so my friends and family don’t put me in a straight jacket. Therefore, writing is pointless if readers don’t learn something and or enjoy what they’re reading.
Bitcoin Urbanism issues published will reference prior Satoshi’s Sidewalks, and vice versa. Since we’re just getting started there’s not much linking going on. We’ll get there though.
If you have feedback, shoot a DM to either @BitcoinUrbanism or my twitter. Honest feedback is always welcome. You won’t hurt my feelings so let it fly.
